Pretty and perky, Amanda Leatherman is the former poker media darling known for her interviews on PokerNews.com, and as host of the since-cancelled PokerStars.net’s “Big Game” on Fox.
In poker circles and on forums like 2+2, she is known as the former girlfriend of Daniel Negreanu. She seemed to be a favorite among many in the poker community, as many online poker site forum threads were spent speculating on her boyfriends, background, and even as to whether or not she had breast implants.
Leatherman has been a reporter and hostess for a variety of poker media outlets. Her first stint was at the poker tournament reporting website, PokerWire.com. She also contributed to PokerRoad.com, and as hostess for the North American Poker Tour.
After she left her interviewing duties with PokerNews, she was hired as a webcam girl for the World Poker Tour (WPT) shows during its 7th season, doing interviews and hosting duties.
She went on to be the featured host of Fox’s “Big Game,” which was sponsored by PokerStars.com, although they had to use the PokerStars.net logo to appease media regulators in the United States.
The “Big Game” started in 2010, and lasted two seasons. It featured an amateur taking on five poker professionals. The line-up included a who’s who of poker celebrities, including Barry Greenstein, Phil Hellmuth, and of course Daniel Negreanu.
With poker’s Black Friday on April 15, 2011, televised poker as we know it, including the “Big Game” on Fox, ended.
Shortly after the cancelation of the “Big Game” in the spring of 2011, she became a sponsored pro on Bodog – not bad considering her complete lack of any poker tournament success whatsoever, other than a 45th place in the WSOP ladies only event in 2008. She cashed for $3,682 in the tournament.
Later, in 2012, it appears she did work, photo shoots and blog postings, for online gaming and poker site Bovada.com.
Leatherman told Bluff that her favorite tournament to cover was the Aussie Millions, but that her favorite tournament location was Aruba.
What Amanda Leatherman is Up To Today
Born August 7, 1984. Amanda Leatherman is originally from North Carolina and now lives in Charlotte. From what I can gather from her Pinterest board, she became engaged in April of 2013, to Bobby Robinson, an avid runner and Washington Redskins fan.
From his Twitter account, they are apparently now married.
On December 31st, 2014, Star 104.3, a top 40 radio station in Asheville, North Carolina, WQNQ, announced that Amanda was joining their morning team as a co-host.
In March of 2015, she began a part time return to poker, taking a gig as a sideline hostess for the Heartland Poker Tour during the HPT’s stop at the Indigo Sky Casino in Oklahoma. She has continued this reporting work at other HPT stops since then.
She has blue eyes, doesn’t eat meat, and told an interviewer that her favorite food is chicken. She loves Red Bull and vodka. In fact, alcohol is prominent in many of her Twitter postings and Pinterest photos. On social media sites, she posts a few annoying religious-phobic, pro-gay rants, and retweets socialist Bernie Sanders rants, but most of her Twitter and Facebook postings involve her drinking vodka, or kissing her fiancé.
Amanda Leatherman is short, at 5 foot tall exactly. When it comes to her feet, she told PokerNews that she owns between 40 and 50 pairs of shoes, and that her favorite shoe designer is Jimmy Choo. She has one tattoo on her back. For some reason, she follows Bill Clinton, Chelsea Clinton, and Michelle Obama of all people, on Twitter.
A former resident of L.A., Leatherman admits to being “addicted to TV.” Based on her Twitter activity, her favorite show is “Breaking Bad” and “Nip/Tuck.” She is good friends with former WSOP Player of the Year Jeff Madsen.
Besides dating Daniel Negreanu, the poker rumor mill on 2+2 had also had her romantically linked with her former Poker Road co-worker Joe Sebok. For her part, Leatherman says her favorite poker player of all time is Doyle Brunson, but I don’t think they have been linked romantically (he says sarcastically).
With regards to her previous relationship with Daniel Negreanu, she told PokerNews in a “WAG” segment (“WAG stands for “Wives and Girlfriends” of poker players): “He’s amazing. He does anything I want.”

For his part, Negreanu wrote this about Amanda in his blog: “she is the most naturally beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”
Although televised poker is, for the most part, currently on hiatus in the United States, once the legal footing for online poker becomes more settled, Amanda Leatherman would seem to be likely to fill the poker show airwaves once again.
