The Orleans Hotel & Gold Coast Casino Las Vegas Shuttle to Strip

Editor’s Note: A May 2022 call into the Orleans confirmed that the shuttle service has been discontinued. Below is our original article about the service.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch, however there is a free shuttle that takes guests from two different Las Vegas hotels, to the Las Vegas Strip (and back).

The two hotels are The Gold Coast Hotel & Casino and The Orleans Hotel & Casino.

Both casinos are located west of the Las Vegas Strip and cater to locals looking for friendly, low-limit games, as well as visitors looking for something more casual and affordable than the expensive Strip mega-resorts.

The complimentary shuttle gives guests a chance to get out and explore the Strip, without having to pay parking fees or taxi/Uber/Lyft fares.

The free shuttle goes from the Gold Coast, then south to The Orleans, then back up North to a drop off point at the Fashion Show Mall on the northern end of the Las Vegas Strip, across from the Wynn.

The route back goes from the Strip to the Gold Coast, then back to The Orleans.

Gold Coast/Orleans to Las Vegas Strip Shuttle Schedule

Sunday – ThursdayNoon – 10 PM
Friday & Saturday Noon – Midnight

Please note that the last shuttle from the Strip may leave 1/2 hour before these closing times.

Pick Up/Drop Off Locations

At the Gold Coast, the complimentary shuttle stop is in front of the resort’s Flamingo Road entrance.

At The Orleans, you’ll get on or off directly in front of the casino entrance, in front of the big glass windows with “The Orleans” lettering.

On the Strip, the drop-off is at the Fashion Show Mall. The exact pick-up/drop-off point can change, but I believe it is currently at the Forever 21 valet area at the north end of the mall. (Previously the drop-off was at the Linq Promenade.)

Also, while the shuttle is scheduled to arrive at each drop off point every 30 minutes, that can change depending how on bad traffic is on and around the Strip.

On this map below, “A” is the Gold Coast and the blue line is the route to the Orleans “B.” The shuttle then goes to the Fashion Show Mall, represented by the black star.)

Boarding

Per their websites, the Gold Coast/Orleans Strip Shuttle is only for hotel guests or those with the casinos’ B-Connect player’s card. These are free to get of course, and you can ride regardless of your B-Connected card level. I’m not sure if showing a hotel room key or player’s card is strictly enforced however.

Please also note that it’s a nice gesture to tip the driver. Yes it’s a complimentary ride, however think of the money you’re saving by not having to take an Uber/Lyft or taxi.

Other

Some of you may ask: why would a casino provide guests with a free bus to the competition?

The Gold Coast Hotel & Casino has a free shuttle to the Las Vegas Strip

The answer: The Orleans and Gold Coast are owned by Boyd Gaming, so they don’t mind if you drop a few bucks into a slot at a sister property.

It’s similar to the Sam’s Town Shuttle, which ferries guests from Sam’s Town (a Boyd Gaming property) to both the Strip and two other Boyd Gaming hotel/casinos in downtown Las Vegas.

In addition, by offering a free shuttle from the hotels to the Strip, they figure there’s the chance that some guests will stay at the hotel(s) who wouldn’t stay there otherwise without easy access to the Las Vegas Strip. It’s basically a nice added amenity to your hotel stay.

And in an era, where the Rio has ended its free shuttle to and from the Las Vegas Strip, (yet still charges a hefty resort fee), it’s nice to see a few casinos still offer this very convenient (and free) amenity to its guests.

Orleans Hotel Las Vegas & Gold Coast Casino Airport Shuttle

The free Orleans/Gold Coast/Strip shuttle does not go to McCarren International Airport.

You’ll have to take an Uber/Lyft/Taxi or one of the numerous pay airport shuttles available. Bell Limousine is also a long-running Las Vegas airport transportation provider.
