Caesars Diamond in a Day: How to Earn Diamond Status Fast

How Caesars Diamond in a Day works: earn 5,000 base tier credits in one day for a 10,000 bonus. Tier thresholds, earning rates, costs and Diamond perks.

“Diamond in a Day” is the shortcut to Caesars Rewards Diamond status: earn 5,000 base tier credits in a single day and Caesars’ daily tier credit bonus adds 10,000 more, taking you to the 15,000 needed for Diamond. Doing it takes heavy play, about $25,000 through slot machines or $50,000 through video poker in one day, so it only makes sense if you were going to gamble that much anyway.

How to earn tier credits

You earn tier credits by gambling with your Caesars Rewards card in the machine or handed to the dealer, and by spending at Caesars properties. Caesars’ published rates:

Gaming

  • Slot machines: 1 tier credit per $5 played (some machines earn less)
  • Video poker: 1 tier credit per $10 played (some machines earn less)
  • Table games and poker: based on how long you play, your average bet and the game, as rated by the pit
  • Sports betting: earned per bet, subject to minimum odds, with higher rates on parlays

Hotel, dining and entertainment

  • Hotel: 1 tier credit per $1 on room rates and resort fees
  • Dining: 1 tier credit per $1 at participating restaurants
  • Entertainment, spa and shopping: 1 tier credit per $1

Rates vary by market and can change, so check the rules at the property you plan to visit.

How Diamond in a Day works

Caesars pays daily tier credit bonuses when you reach set amounts of base tier credits in one day. Caesars lists these bonuses:

Base tier credits earned in one day Bonus tier credits
500 125
1,000 1,000
2,500 5,000
5,000 10,000

Hit 5,000 base credits in one day and the 10,000 bonus brings you to 15,000, which is Diamond. Hitting 2,500 in a day gives you 7,500, enough for Platinum. Caesars says it can change or end these bonuses at any destination, and it has already stopped them at a few properties, including Horseshoe Tunica, so check before you plan a trip around them.

What 5,000 tier credits takes

  • About $25,000 played through slot machines
  • About $50,000 played through video poker
  • About $5,000 spent on rooms, dining, shows and shopping
  • Or a mix of these, plus whatever the pit credits you for rated table play

Remember that “played” means total amount wagered, not money lost. A $5,000 bankroll cycled through slots several times can reach $25,000 in play, but the house edge works on every spin, so expect to lose a meaningful share of what you cycle through.

Tier credit multiplier days

Caesars also runs occasional tier credit multiplier promotions, such as 5X days, and some properties have run 10X events. These multiply your base credits, which makes the daily bonus thresholds much easier to reach. Multiplier offers usually have to be activated at a kiosk before you play, and the bonus credits can take a week or two to post. Watch your Caesars Rewards emails and app for dates.

Tips for tracking your credits

  • Check your balance in the Caesars Rewards app, at a kiosk or at a Caesars Rewards Center as you play.
  • Slot and video poker play posts quickly. Table game ratings are entered by the pit and can take longer to show.
  • Ask at the Rewards Center when the gaming day starts and ends at that property, since the bonus is based on one day’s play.
  • Give yourself a margin. Falling a few credits short of 5,000 drops your bonus from 10,000 to 5,000.

Diamond benefits

Caesars lists these benefits for Diamond members:

  • A $100 Celebration Dinner at a participating restaurant
  • Priority lines at hotel check-in, restaurants, casino cashiers and Caesars Rewards Centers
  • Early check-in and late check-out, based on availability
  • No resort fees
  • Paid access to the Laurel Lounge, where available
  • 20% off at casino gift shops
  • A complimentary stay at Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas
  • Up to 20% off Norwegian Cruise Line vacations

Caesars lists complimentary valet and self-parking at many destinations among its Platinum benefits. Free and discounted room offers depend on your play, not on your tier alone.

Is Diamond in a Day worth it?

It can be, if you visit Caesars properties in Las Vegas or elsewhere several times a year and would gamble at that level anyway. Skipping resort fees and lines and getting the dinner credit and Atlantis stay add real value for a regular visitor.

It is a bad deal if you would be stretching your bankroll to get there. Diamond status will not make up for a big loss chasing it. For other ways to get value from casino play, see our guide to earning comps.

Caesars Diamond FAQ

How many tier credits do you need for Caesars Diamond?

15,000 tier credits in a calendar year. With the daily bonus, earning 5,000 base credits in one day gets you there.

Is Total Rewards the same as Caesars Rewards?

Yes. Total Rewards was renamed Caesars Rewards, and the program now has six tiers from Gold to Seven Stars.

Does Caesars Diamond get you free rooms?

Diamond removes resort fees, but free and discounted rooms are offered based on your gaming play.

Do tier credits expire?

Tier credits reset to zero on January 1, so status has to be earned again each year. Reward Credits, the points you spend, expire if your account has no earning activity for six months.
