Gamboool helps players understand games, compare their options, and make better-informed decisions about where and how to play.
Our guides should answer the questions you would ask a knowledgeable friend: What are the rules? What does it cost? What’s the catch? How do we know?
These standards guide how we research, write, review, and update our content.
Usefulness comes first
Every page should help a reader do something: understand a game, compare casinos, plan a visit, check a restriction, or decide whether an option suits them.
We explain unfamiliar terms, give concrete examples, and put important conditions where readers can see them. We aim to make complicated subjects understandable without removing the details that change the answer.
If an option has a meaningful drawback, readers should learn about it before following a link or making a decision.
We show where information comes from
We prioritize sources with direct knowledge of the subject. Depending on the topic, those include:
- Government statutes, gambling regulators, and official public records.
- Published game rules, manufacturer documentation, and pay tables.
- Casino and hotel websites for their own facilities, fees, and policies.
- Original reporting, interviews, photographs, and documented visits.
- Research papers and established specialist publications.
A source is useful within its limits. A casino can confirm its parking charge, but its marketing copy does not establish that it offers the best value. A manufacturer can explain a game feature, but promotional language is not proof that players are more likely to win.
We link to sources where they help readers verify important claims. When reliable sources disagree, we explain the disagreement or identify what remains uncertain.
We distinguish research from firsthand experience
A researched casino guide is not the same as a visit. Watching gameplay is not the same as testing a game. Reading a withdrawal policy is not the same as completing a withdrawal.
We identify firsthand reporting when it contributes to an article. We do not invent visits, interviews, purchases, account activity, or testing.
When coverage relies on published information, we describe it accordingly. Reader reviews can add context, but an individual account does not establish what every visitor will experience.
We explain the conditions behind the numbers
Gambling statistics are only useful when readers understand what they describe.
When reporting odds, payouts, house edge, or return-to-player figures, we explain relevant rules and assumptions. Where game versions or configurations differ, we avoid presenting one figure as universal.
Examples, calculations, and simulations should use consistent inputs and distinguish theoretical results from observed outcomes. A short demonstration does not establish a game’s long-term performance.
We do not describe a betting system as a guaranteed way to make money or suggest that past losses make a future win due.
Our recommendations need reasons
A recommendation should explain who an option may suit, what supports that judgment, and what could make it a poor fit.
“Best” requires context. A casino with attractive blackjack rules may have high minimum bets. A convenient hotel may charge fees that change its value. A feature-rich slot may be unsuitable for someone looking for straightforward gameplay.
Where we publish rankings or scores, we explain the criteria and distinguish documented facts from editorial judgment. We do not claim to have evaluated every option unless we have done so.
Commercial relationships must be clear
Gamboool may earn revenue from advertising, affiliate referrals, and sponsorships.
We disclose relevant relationships alongside the affected content so readers can understand when we may benefit from a recommendation or link. Commercial links do not remove our obligation to explain material drawbacks.
Advertisers and affiliate partners do not buy favorable reviews, review scores, or conclusions. Sponsored material must be identifiable as sponsored.
A business may point out a factual error. That does not give it control over our assessment or a right to remove fair criticism.
We distinguish different gambling services
State-regulated casinos, offshore gambling sites, sweepstakes casinos, and social casino games have different rules and protections.
Our coverage should explain the type of service being discussed, relevant location and age restrictions, and how deposits, purchases, withdrawals, or prize redemptions work.
A site accepting a registration does not establish that a person is legally eligible to use it. Likewise, “free to play” does not necessarily mean an experience has no purchases, spending risks, or redemption conditions.
We avoid treating services as interchangeable when those differences matter to readers.
Legal coverage requires particular care
Our gambling-law guides provide general information, not personalized legal advice.
We prioritize current official sources and distinguish the wording of a law from our explanation of it. We also distinguish legislation that has been proposed, enacted, taken effect, or implemented.
Where the answer depends on a reader’s location, the activity involved, or a specific exception, we explain those conditions. We do not turn an uncertain answer into a confident “yes” simply to make a table easier to read.
AI supports the work; it does not establish the facts
We may use artificial intelligence to assist with research organization, drafting, editing, calculations, coding, and visual production.
AI output is not a source. Claims, quotations, citations, and calculations require verification appropriate to the subject, regardless of how the initial material was produced.
We do not use AI to fabricate player experiences, expert credentials, interviews, or evidence. AI-generated illustrations should not be presented as photographs documenting a real visit, person, or event.
Editorial responsibility stays with Gamboool.
Dates should reflect meaningful work
Gambling information changes. Fees rise, games leave casino floors, promotions expire, and laws develop.
We prioritize updates where changes could materially affect a reader’s decision. Important details may still change between reviews, so readers should confirm time-sensitive information directly before traveling, registering, or spending money.
A publication date identifies when an article was published. A review or update date should reflect a genuine review or substantive change. Changing a date alone does not make an article current.
We correct mistakes
When we learn of a possible error, we assess the information and correct it where warranted.
For significant errors that affect an article’s meaning or conclusions, we aim to explain what changed. Minor spelling, formatting, and clarity fixes generally do not need a separate correction note.
To report an issue, use our contact page and include the article URL, the disputed detail, and any evidence that helps us check it. A clear correction request is welcome, whether it comes from a reader, a business, or another publisher.
Reader contributions need context
Comments and player reviews can reveal useful experiences and questions. They should reflect genuine experiences and disclose relevant commercial relationships.
We may remove spam, fabricated reviews, harassment, private information, and other inappropriate submissions. We do not remove criticism merely because it is negative or publish praise merely because it benefits a commercial partner.
Reader opinions remain the contributor’s own. Publication does not mean that Gamboool has independently verified every statement.
Visuals should clarify, not mislead
Charts, tables, photographs, illustrations, and videos should help readers understand the subject.
We identify illustrative or simulated material when readers could reasonably mistake it for documented evidence. We do not alter gameplay results, receipts, or other evidence to create a misleading impression.
Where relevant, visuals should include clear labels, sources, assumptions, and accessible explanations. Third-party material must be used with appropriate rights or another lawful basis.
Player wellbeing matters
Gambling can cause financial and emotional harm. Our coverage should acknowledge that risk without blaming people who experience it.
We do not promise guaranteed winnings, encourage chasing losses, or suggest bypassing self-exclusion, age checks, or location restrictions. Promotions should not be framed as a solution to debt or financial stress.
Our responsible gambling page provides information about warning signs, access restrictions, and support. Sometimes the most useful advice we can give is to stop playing.
Accountability
These standards apply to Gamboool’s editorial work, including contributions produced with outside writers or automated tools.
If you believe a page falls short, tell us through our contact page. Include the URL and explain the concern. We want readers to be able to question our work and understand the basis for our conclusions.
