Shadow of the Panther is a jungle-themed video slot designed by High 5 Games as part of its long partnership with IGT, which put High 5 titles on its casino floors. It plays on 5 reels and 30 lines, and its two features are Super Stacks, which can fill whole reels with one symbol, and a Free Games Bonus started by the half-human, half-beast scatter symbol. The bonus round produces most of the bigger wins.
Reels and Symbols
The game has five reels with three symbols showing on each and 30 paylines. The symbols are:
- The Human-Beast, part human and part beast, which is the scatter symbol that starts the free games
- The Shadow of the Panther logo, which is wild and substitutes for every symbol except the Human-Beast
- Panthers and tigers
- Gemstones
- Card values from 10 to A as the low-paying symbols
Super Stacks
Super Stacks is the feature that makes the game. Each reel carries tall stacks of a single symbol, so a spin can show the same symbol filling an entire reel. When several reels land the same stacked symbol, one spin can pay on many paylines at once. The free games use a different set of reels from the base game.
Free Games Bonus
The Free Games Bonus starts when five or more Human-Beast symbols land. They appear only on reels 2 to 5. Five symbols award five free games, six award seven, seven award ten and eight award 15. Free games cannot be won again during the bonus, so 15 is the most a single bonus can give. The round plays out quickly, even at the maximum.
Is Shadow of the Panther a Good Slot?
It is a simple, fast game that suits players who like stacked-symbol slots. Like most video slots it has a higher house edge than table games or video poker, and the bonus is where the game pays its best. Set a budget before you start and treat the bonus as a bonus, not a plan.
