Seminole Casino Brighton in the Okeechobee area has been replaced by Seminole Brighton Bay Hotel & Casino, a tribal casino hotel just west of Lake Okeechobee, Florida. Its strongest reason to visit is having slots, live table games, dinner, bowling, and an overnight stay in one place. The main limitation is smoking: a designated smoke-free slot area does not make the entire casino smoke-free. I’d shortlist it for a regional overnight getaway rather than a sprawling resort vacation, with transportation planned in advance.

What happened to Seminole Casino Brighton?
The former Seminole Casino Brighton, which first opened in 1980, was replaced by Brighton Bay in February 2025. The replacement added the first hotel on the Brighton Seminole Reservation, plus bowling and expanded dining and entertainment facilities.
To me, the hotel is the change that matters most. A visit can now include dinner and an evening event without a separate accommodation search afterward. That gives Brighton a stronger case as a short getaway rather than simply a gambling stop.
I would still approach it as a smaller, self-contained destination, not a substitute for the scale of the Seminole Hard Rock resorts in Tampa or Hollywood. The appeal is having the essentials together, rather than an enormous selection of restaurants and diversions.
Casino floor: slots, video poker, and table games
Brighton Bay’s opening layout included nearly 38,000 square feet of casino space, approximately 640 slots, and 18 table games. Bingo and video poker broaden the selection beyond slots.
The announced high-limit area contained 42 slots and four table games. Those are part of the advertised inventory, not additional games to add to the totals. High-limit availability also tells you nothing about the lowest wager elsewhere on the floor, so check the table signs before buying in.
Slots, video poker, and smoke-free gaming
Slots make up the largest part of the gaming selection. Video poker is also available, including machines at Center Bar. If video poker is your preference, examine the pay table on the actual game rather than assuming every machine offers the same return.
At opening, the designated smoke-free area contained 104 of the 640 slots, or 16.25% of the announced slot inventory. That provides a separate selection, but it covers only part of the floor. It does not establish how well smoke is contained.
My advice is to treat smoking as a trip-planning issue, not a footnote. If exposure could spoil the visit, ask about the layout and routes between gaming, dining, and the hotel before booking.
On any machine, read the total wager before pressing the button. A low denomination does not necessarily mean a low-cost spin, and winning or losing stories do not establish a machine’s payout percentage.
Live table games
Confirmed named games include blackjack, craps, and roulette, alongside other house-banked card games. That is a useful spread for a regional casino: a group does not have to agree on slots to find something to play.
The property’s casino guide also names Pai Gow among its live games and Mini Baccarat in the high-limit area. Ask about hours and limits if either is the reason for your trip.
If a particular game or modest minimum is essential, call before making the drive. Limits and operating tables can change with demand. At blackjack, check the rules, especially the blackjack payout, as well as the minimum wager.
Poker room and sportsbook
Brighton Bay has no dedicated player-versus-player poker room and no on-property retail sportsbook. Video poker and poker-themed house games are not a poker room, and a mobile betting app is not an in-person sportsbook.
Bingo
Bingo provides another option beyond slots and tables. Check the session schedule, admission package, and game rules before traveling specifically to play. The event space’s announced bingo capacity was 400 seats, but capacity does not tell you when sessions run or what they cost.
Hotel rooms: which upgrade is worthwhile?
The 100-room hotel occupies four floors, with king rooms, two-queen rooms, and suites. Staying here makes the most sense when you want dinner or entertainment without a drive to another hotel afterward.
| Room category | Published size | Practical difference |
|---|---|---|
| Deluxe King | 315 square feet | One king bed; a starting point for couples comparing categories |
| Deluxe Queen | 330 square feet | Two queen beds; only 15 square feet more than the Deluxe King, so bed configuration matters more |
| Luxury King | 515 square feet | King bed and queen pull-out sofa; 200 square feet more than the Deluxe King |
| Seminole Suite | 740 square feet | King bed and separate living area; 225 square feet more than the Luxury King |
I would compare the Deluxe King and Luxury King first for an ordinary overnight trip. If you mainly need somewhere to sleep, extra space may not justify the rate difference. If you expect to relax in the room, the Luxury King’s additional space is a tangible upgrade rather than just a nicer label.
Confirm occupancy rules rather than treating a sofa bed as permission for additional guests. Compare complete booking totals, cancellation terms, and any incidental authorization before reserving.
Pool, cabanas, and fitness center

The heated outdoor pool, sun deck, and reservable chickee-style cabanas offer a break from gambling. There is also a fitness center.
Pool access, lounge chairs, and towels are reserved for registered hotel guests. A day trip to gamble does not include pool access. Published hours are 8 a.m. to sunset, weather permitting, so plan a swim before dinner rather than after a late evening on the floor.
Guests under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and no lifeguard is on duty. Outside food and beverages, coolers, glass containers, and pets are prohibited in the pool area. The two cabanas require reservations; do not assume one comes with your room.
Restaurants and bars
Brighton Bay covers several dining situations, from a planned steakhouse dinner to a quick coffee or slice of pizza. Choose around the evening’s plans rather than assuming every outlet keeps casino-floor hours.
- Josiah Steakhouse: The special-occasion option, with an American steakhouse menu and wood-fire-grilled steaks. Check reservation availability if dinner needs to fit around a show.
- EE-TO-LEET-KE Grill: A casual diner serving breakfast dishes, burgers, sandwiches, and comfort food. All-day breakfast does not mean round-the-clock service.
- Constant Grind: Coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and quick snacks in the Marketplace area.
- Slice: Pizza for a shorter meal break.
- Center Bar: Drinks and bar-top video poker, rather than a separate dining destination.
That mix works for a short stay: a planned dinner, a casual meal, and something quick between activities. Review menus before committing to several meals on-site, particularly if your group has dietary requirements.
For late-night coffee or a snack, the property’s October 2026 dining update lists Constant Grind as open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The sit-down restaurants do not necessarily keep those hours.
Bowling and live entertainment
Brighton Bay Bowling has 10 lanes, making it a useful attraction for a mixed-interest group. Not everyone has to gamble for the evening to work.
The published bowling prices list $4 to $6 per game, depending on the day and whether you play before or after 5 p.m., plus $4 per person for shoe rental. Check current prices and lane availability before visiting.
The indoor event venue was announced with capacity for up to 900 people in a performance layout, compared with 400 for banquets or bingo. These are alternative configurations, not simultaneous capacities.
Check the event calendar before choosing dates. A performance venue does not guarantee a show every night, and a hotel reservation does not automatically include event admission or a bowling lane.
Getting there, parking, and visit costs
Brighton Bay sits on the Brighton Seminole Reservation just west of Lake Okeechobee. Use the full current property name in your navigation app, and make sure the result identifies the hotel and casino rather than the former casino location.
I would plan this primarily as a driving trip. Check the route from your actual starting point instead of relying on broad travel-time claims. Roads around the lake make straight-line distance a poor guide to driving time.
If you are not bringing a car, arrange both the arrival and return journey in advance. Do not leave a late-night ride or airport transfer to chance. Contact the property about parking arrangements, accessible arrival needs, valet service, or EV charging if those affect your plans.
Budget separately for transportation, the complete room total, meals and activities, and gambling. Check menus, bowling charges, and event tickets for your dates rather than assuming they are included in the room rate. Keep the gambling limit separate, and do not let an ATM withdrawal become an unplanned budget increase.
Unity by Hard Rock rewards
Brighton Bay participates in Unity by Hard Rock. Bring your existing card or ask about enrollment before playing so eligible activity can be recorded.
Read each offer’s valid dates, redemption steps, and exclusions. My rule is simple: use benefits that fit the trip you already want, but do not increase your gambling budget to chase a room, meal, or higher tier.
Our recommendation: who Brighton Bay suits
Brighton Bay suits Lake Okeechobee-area visitors who want slots, live tables, dinner, and an overnight stay together, with bowling and a heated pool providing breaks from gambling. I see its smaller, self-contained format as a good fit for a short escape rather than a lengthy resort vacation. Choose another property if you need a fully smoke-free casino or want extensive off-site dining and nightlife: the convenience here is within the property, and transportation deserves advance planning.
