Wynn Casino Las Vegas is a luxury casino resort on the northern Strip, connected to Encore and next to Palazzo. Its strongest attraction is the whole package: an elegant casino, substantial rooms, destination dining, golf, and resort amenities worth lingering over. The main drawback is cost, including a $55 nightly resort fee plus tax. I think Wynn makes the most sense for visitors who want their hotel to be part of the vacation, not merely somewhere to sleep between cheaper gambling sessions.

What kind of casino is Wynn?

Wynn’s bronze tower is easy to recognize. Inside, the appeal is less about a giant theme and more about flowers, gardens, elaborate finishes, and public spaces that invite you to slow down. You do not have to gamble to enjoy the place, which matters when deciding whether to visit or book a room.

Wynn opened in 2005, followed by Encore in 2008. They form one integrated resort, but they have separate hotel towers and casino areas. Your room, dinner, poker game, and evening entertainment may not all be in the same building.

One memory from my earlier visit still captures the attraction: “I remember the first time I walked into the Wynn, being amazed how light and bright it was. Having real live actual sunlight reaching a casino floor is a refreshing change to the typical Las Vegas casino layout.” That is an observation from an earlier visit, not a claim that every gaming area gets natural light.

Fashion Show is across Las Vegas Boulevard, and Palazzo is immediately south. Wynn works well for a northern-Strip itinerary. It is less convenient when nearly everything you want to do is at the southern end of the Strip.

Wynn and Encore offer slots, live table games, and high-limit gaming around the clock. The resort’s official property information also confirms the Encore poker room and in-person race and sports wagering.

My view is that the surroundings are the principal reason to choose this casino over a more basic gambling stop. That does not mean the games offer better odds, and it certainly does not mean you should stretch your bankroll to match the decor.

Slots and video poker

Both casino floors have slot machines, and the resort map identifies high-limit options. Choose the game and wager first, then enjoy the setting. An expensive hotel does not make a slot machine more likely to pay.

For video poker, check the pay table on the specific machine and denomination. Matching game names do not guarantee matching payouts. If you want a particular game, ask casino staff rather than planning around an old inventory list.

Table games and minimum bets

The official overview specifically names blackjack and roulette, while the resort map identifies baccarat and private gaming. Check the actual lineup when you arrive instead of assuming every specialty game will be open.

My earlier account noted that I could not find a blackjack table below $25 on a weekend night. That was a past visit, not a current minimum-bet guide. The practical lesson remains useful: do not build a low-budget gambling evening around the assumption that Wynn will have a cheap seat waiting.

At blackjack, read the payout and rules as carefully as the minimum. At roulette, check the number of zeros. Beautiful surroundings are a pleasant extra, not compensation for a game you would otherwise avoid.

Poker room: head to Encore

The Wynn Poker Room is at Encore, not on Wynn’s main casino floor. This dedicated player-versus-player room operates 24 hours daily and offers cash games and tournaments.

If poker is the main reason for your visit, I would arrive on the Encore side. It saves an unnecessary walk, particularly with a bag or close to tournament registration.

Check the current game list, waiting list, and tournament calendar before committing to a trip. Historical buy-ins and limits are not a useful substitute. Poker guests may qualify for parking benefits, but confirm eligibility and validation procedures with the room.

Wynn Race & Sports Book

Wynn Race & Sports Book offers in-person wagering. An additional Encore Race & Sports Book operates beside the Encore Players Lounge. These are physical betting facilities, not simply sports bars with televisions.

The published Wynn sportsbook hours are:

  • Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Sunday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

That differs from the round-the-clock casino and poker room. Call (702) 770-3075 if your plans depend on betting-counter access.

For a major game, ask about seating reservations, spending requirements, and access rules before inviting a group. Do not assume a small wager buys a prime seat. The resort also lists the Wynn Sports Nevada app, but app availability and account requirements are separate from retail-counter access.

Wynn hotel: rooms, resort fees, and booking benefits

Wynn offers Resort rooms, Tower Suites, and Fairway Villas, with separate accommodation choices at Encore. The official Wynn fact sheet lists 2,714 Wynn guest rooms and suites. The integrated resort lists 4,748 rooms, suites, and villas across both properties; those figures describe different scopes.

I would stay here when the hotel figures prominently in the itinerary: pool time, a special dinner, golf, spa treatments, or several evenings within the complex. If you leave early every morning and return only to sleep, you may be paying for a resort you barely use.

Wynn versus Encore rooms

The official Wynn accommodation fact sheet lists Resort Guest Rooms at 640 square feet. Encore Resort accommodations are listed at 745 square feet, with a separate living space.

Encore therefore has 105 more square feet in these published categories. That matters if you want room to spread out, but it does not establish better value without comparing rates, views, location, and booking benefits.

What the resort fee includes

The published reservation policies specify a $55 daily resort fee plus tax for Resort and Tower Suites reservations, including applicable complimentary nights. An illustrative three-night stay adds $165 before tax, excluding the room charge and other expenses.

Resort reservations include self-parking for up to two vehicles. Tower Suites reservations include valet or self-parking for up to two vehicles. Both categories pay the published resort fee, so included valet is not the same thing as avoiding that fee.

Other listed fee benefits include Wi-Fi, bottled water, and fitness-center access for up to two people. Amenities remain subject to availability and guest demand. Tower Suites have accommodation-specific advantages, so compare the benefits in your actual offer rather than treating every suite reservation as identical.

The comparison below assembles published room, parking, and fee information. Example stay lengths, vehicle counts, and treatment prices are illustrative assumptions, not reported guest bills.

Gamboool original analysis

We assembled the comparison below from published information and our calculations. These are selected examples, rather than measured gambling sessions or a representative survey.

Detail Published information
Wynn Resort and Tower Suites reservations: Daily resort fee Both reservation categories carry a published daily resort fee of $55.00 plus tax.
Resort versus Tower Suites guests: Included parking comparison Resort guests receive self-parking for up to two vehicles; Tower Suites guests receive valet or self-parking for up to two vehicles.
Nonregistered guests: Self-parking charge and complimentary period Standard visitor self-parking is $25.00 per day, with the first three hours complimentary.
Valet parking: Charge, grace period, and reentry Standard valet costs $40.00 for up to 24 hours, without a grace period or reentry privileges; special-event prices may be higher.
Wynn Resort Guest Rooms: Published floor area for room-category comparison Wynn Resort Guest Rooms are listed at 640 square feet.
Encore Resort rooms: Published floor area and layout for room-category comparison Encore Resort accommodations are listed at 745 square feet with a separate living space.
Wynn and Encore spas: Cancellation versus missed-appointment charges Changes or cancellations require at least six hours’ notice. Later cancellations incur half the treatment fee, while missed appointments incur the full fee.
The Spa at Encore: Temporary amenity restrictions and price adjustment The supplied source reports unavailable wet-area facilities and a temporary $45.00 treatment-price reduction; confirm availability before booking.
Lake of Dreams: Complimentary viewing versus paid viewing venues North Show Terrace viewing is complimentary; food and drinks at viewing venues are separate purchases.
Wynn casino and poker visitors: Operating hours and poker location The casinos and Encore-based Wynn Poker Room operate around the clock; poker offers both cash games and tournaments.
Wynn Race & Sports Book: Betting-counter schedule versus round-the-clock poker The sportsbook publishes limited daily hours rather than round-the-clock operation, with different weekday and weekend schedules.
Smoking at Wynn: Permitted areas versus nonsmoking-room penalty Casino-floor smoking is permitted, but smoking in a designated nonsmoking room can trigger a cleaning fee of up to $1,500.00.
Calculation Result Takeaway
Resort-fee budget for an illustrative three-night stay 165 US dollars, before tax Add the resort fee to the room-price comparison; this calculation excludes room charges and taxes.
Standard valet premium over paid visitor self-parking $15.00 per qualifying visit For a visit beyond the complimentary self-parking period, self-parking costs less than valet at the published standard rates. Exclude special events, complimentary-parking eligibility, and reentry from this comparison.
Illustrative paid self-parking budget for two visitor vehicles $50.00 Visitors arriving separately should budget parking by vehicle. Registered guests should check their included parking benefits before adding a separate parking expense.
Encore Resort room versus Wynn Resort room floor-space difference 105 square feet Encore offers more published floor space in these resort-room categories, but this comparison does not establish better value without matching room prices and booking benefits.
Late spa cancellation on an illustrative $200.00 treatment $100.00 A late cancellation can still cost a substantial share of the treatment price; notify the spa before its cancellation deadline.
Missed spa appointment on an illustrative $200.00 treatment $200.00 Missing the appointment costs more than the published late-cancellation charge for the same treatment. Do not assume a missed appointment is free because no treatment was received.

Method: Published inputs collected 2026-10-14. Illustrative assumptions are labeled, and the full calculation inputs remain in the saved research record. These examples support planning; they do not predict a particular session.

Check-in is at 3 p.m., and checkout is at noon. Confirm cancellation terms, deposits, and requested late checkout before booking. If quiet matters, discuss room placement with the hotel; a luxury label does not guarantee that every room will suit every sleeper.

Restaurants and bars

Dining is one of the strongest arguments for Wynn. It is also an efficient way to make an expensive vacation more expensive. I would book the meal that matters most first, then leave some flexibility for the rest.

  • SW Steakhouse: An upscale American steakhouse at the Lake of Dreams, suited to a special dinner.
  • Wing Lei: Fine-dining Chinese cuisine in an elaborate setting.
  • Mizumi: Japanese dining, including sushi, robata, and teppanyaki options.
  • Delilah: An American supper club where music, performances, and atmosphere are part of the evening.
  • PISCES: Mediterranean seafood dining at lake level.
  • Allegro: Italian dining with less formal positioning than the principal special-occasion restaurants.
  • The Buffet: A broad-selection option, but not automatically a budget meal.
  • Sinatra: Italian fine dining at Encore.

Sartiano’s Italian Steakhouse also appears in the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority’s June 2026 restaurant roundup. Its dry-aged prime beef and housemade pasta make it worth considering when your group is split between steakhouse dining and Italian food.

For a lighter meal or coffee, the complex lists Red 8, Terrace Pointe Café, Caffè Al Teatro, and Urth Caffé. Fine-dining reservations are strongly recommended; check each restaurant’s hours, dress requirements, and cancellation policies. In-room dining operates around the clock, but that does not make every restaurant a 24-hour operation.

A drink near the lake is a smaller commitment than a full dinner while still giving you a taste of the setting. Our guide to Wynn bars and nightclubs covers those options in more detail.

Lake of Dreams, entertainment, and amenities

Lake of Dreams: complimentary viewing

Lake of Dreams combines music, lighting, puppetry, and imagery within the landscaped lake setting. Shows run every half hour from dusk to 11:30 p.m., with complimentary viewing at the North Show Terrace.

This is one of my favorite practical distinctions at Wynn: seeing the presentation does not require a room reservation or dinner purchase. Food, drinks, and seating at surrounding venues cost extra. Choose the free viewing area if the show itself is what you came for.

Entertainment closures reported October 14, 2026

Encore Theater hosts concerts and comedy, while Encore Beach Club follows its seasonal and event calendar. Tickets, nightclub admission, and pool-club reservations have separate costs and access rules.

As of the October 14, 2026 information collection date, the resort reports that Awakening closed October 10, 2026. XS Nightclub is closed for renovation, with reopening scheduled for November 5, 2026. Check the current calendar before organizing a trip around either venue. These are venue-specific closures, not a casino-resort closure.

Pools, spas, shopping, and golf

The complex offers pools, two spas, fitness facilities, luxury shopping, and the 18-hole Wynn Golf Club. Golf, spa treatments, cabanas, and other premium services are separate spending decisions, not benefits to assume are included with a room.

Submitting the Wynn or Encore cabana request form is not a confirmed booking. The resort says it will contact you with confirmation including the date and time. Wait for that before organizing your pool day around the cabana.

The October 14 information also reports temporary restrictions at the Encore spa: sauna, steam room, shower areas, and wet areas are unavailable, with treatment pricing reduced by $45 during the closure. The Encore salon is scheduled to reopen October 20, 2026. If wet-area access is central to your spa day, ask about availability before reserving.

Spa changes or cancellations require at least six hours’ notice. For an illustrative $200 treatment, cancellation inside that window would cost $100 under the published policy; missing the appointment would cost the full $200. Those examples use an assumed treatment price, not a current menu quote.

The resort’s golf FAQ says non-hotel guests can reserve tee times subject to availability, although resort guests receive booking priority. Secure the tee time before building your day around a round.

Parking, directions, and practical visit information

Use 3131 South Las Vegas Boulevard for navigation. Wynn and Encore have separate entrances and garages, so match your arrival point to your destination. The official resort map helps distinguish the Encore poker room from Wynn’s restaurants and casino.

Self-parking versus valet

For nonregistered guests, the first three hours of self-parking are complimentary. The standard charge beyond that period is $25 per day. Standard valet costs $40 for up to 24 hours, with no grace period or reentry privileges. Special-event prices may be higher.

For a qualifying visit beyond the free self-parking period, valet costs $15 more at standard rates. Two visitor vehicles each incurring one standard daily self-parking charge would produce an illustrative $50 bill. Those comparisons exclude special-event pricing, parking benefits, and reentry considerations.

I would use self-parking for an ordinary extended visit unless valet convenience is worth the premium. Registered guests should check included benefits, and visitors with qualifying rewards or venue benefits should confirm eligibility.

Transportation and walking distances

Harry Reid International Airport is the main airport for most arriving visitors. Taxis, rideshares, and private transfers are practical options. Follow designated rideshare pickup instructions rather than assuming every entrance is an approved pickup point.

The Vegas Loop at Encore connects with LVCC Central Station when service is operating. It serves that specific convention-center journey, not every Strip destination.

Allow time for walks within the resort as well as along the Strip. If mobility is a concern, discuss room placement and accessible accommodations with the hotel. Connected towers do not make every destination a short walk.

Smoking and gambling age

Wynn is not a smoke-free casino. Smoking is permitted on the gaming floor, so a nonsmoking room does not eliminate exposure while moving through casino areas. Smoking in a designated nonsmoking room can result in a cleaning fee of up to $1,500. Marijuana products are prohibited throughout the resort.

You must be 21 or older to gamble. Minors may pass through the casino but may not remain in gaming areas, even with an adult. Families should check individual venue restrictions before making reservations.

Wynn Rewards

Wynn Rewards is the loyalty program for the integrated resort. Join before gambling, and ask staff how to associate your machine, table, or poker activity with the account.

Compare member room offers using the same dates, room category, and booking terms. A discount headline matters less than the final stay price. Parking and other benefits depend on current eligibility.

My usual advice applies: do not increase your gambling budget to chase a complimentary meal or room offer. A comp is a benefit, not a reason to lose more.

Who Wynn is best for

The strongest case is the complete resort. Dining, substantial accommodations, attractive public spaces, golf, spas, poker, and sports wagering let you build a trip around one connected complex. A sightseeing visit also lets you enjoy some of the setting without paying for an overnight stay.

The main limitation is cost. Resort fees, dining, premium activities, and available table limits can work against a modest budget. Wynn is more compelling when you genuinely want its amenities than when you simply want the cheapest place to gamble.

Smoking, location, and internal distances also matter. The northern Strip suits some itineraries better than others. Activities spread across both towers require planning, and dated entertainment or spa closures deserve attention when those facilities are central to your trip.

My recommendation

Wynn suits visitors who want upscale dining, substantial accommodations, and leisure options such as golf and spa treatments alongside casino play. I would choose it for a stay built around the resort, rather than a trip spent almost entirely elsewhere on the Strip. Budget-focused travelers, smoke-sensitive visitors, and anyone with a predominantly south-Strip itinerary should consider another property: the nightly resort fee, casino smoking, and walking distances are meaningful trade-offs, even when the luxury amenities appeal.
