777 Casino overview and quick facts
777 fits a downtown stay better than a dedicated casino vacation. Its first-floor hotel setting makes it a straightforward choice for a short machine-gaming session and a drink.
777 Casino and Gold Dust Casino are separately listed properties. They share a website, but their games, hours, and amenities should not be treated as interchangeable.

Slots and electronic games
Deadwood’s casino visitor listing advertises 65 slots alongside electronic poker, blackjack, and roulette. It does not clarify whether the electronic game terminals are included in that count, so this is not a precise total of gaming positions.
That is a modest selection. I would approach 777 as a stop for a flexible machine player, rather than travel specifically for one slot title or a particular video poker pay table.
Current denominations, machine titles, progressive jackpots, high-limit facilities, and video poker variants are not established in the published information. If those details determine where you play, call first.
My usual machine advice applies: check the total wager, not just the denomination on the cabinet, and read the full video poker pay table. Nothing in the available material supports calling these machines loose, tight, or more likely to pay than machines elsewhere.
Live table games and poker
The documented blackjack, roulette, and poker offerings are electronic. Electronic blackjack is not the same experience as a dealer-operated table, and electronic poker does not establish player-versus-player cash games or tournaments.
The supplied sources do not establish live tables, a dedicated poker room, or current minimum wagers at 777. If you want a live game, ask explicitly about the format, staffing, and schedule.
Sportsbook
There is no dedicated poker room or on-site sportsbook.
777 Casino versus Gold Dust
The Gold Dust website advertises blackjack, roulette, Three Card Poker, and sports betting at Gold Dust Casino. That property is listed at 688 Main Street, distinct from 777’s 665 Main Street address.
- Choose 777 for hotel convenience: Its first-floor setting, slots, electronic games, and bar make it a practical hotel-associated stop.
- Consider Gold Dust for live tables or sports betting: Those offerings are advertised there, rather than established for 777. Confirm the specific game’s availability.
- Check the clock early in the week: Gold Dust is listed as open 24/7, while 777 operates from 8 a.m. to midnight Monday through Wednesday.
The supplied schedule calculations give 777 144 published operating hours per week: three 16-hour days and four 24-hour days. Gold Dust’s published schedule provides eight additional operating hours per day Monday through Wednesday.
These are calculations from advertised schedules, not observations of actual opening or staffing. My takeaway: 777 works for an afternoon or evening stop, but do not count on an overnight or early-morning session early in the week. Casino opening hours do not guarantee that every table, bar, or service is available.
Gamboool original analysis
We assembled the comparison below from published information and our calculations. These are selected examples, rather than measured gambling sessions or a representative survey.
| Detail | Published information |
|---|---|
| 777 Casino: Published operating schedule | The operator lists Monday through Wednesday from 8 a.m. to midnight and Thursday through Sunday around the clock. |
| Gold Dust Casino: Comparison property’s address and operating schedule | Gold Dust is separately listed at 688 Main Street with 24/7 operation, unlike 777’s shorter early-week schedule. |
| 777 Casino: Casino-specific contact | The operator publishes (605) 578-2100, extension 2114, for 777, distinguishing it from the hotel’s telephone number. |
| Holiday Inn Express & Suites Deadwood Gold Dust: Hotel address and contact | The operator lists the hotel at 22 Lee Street with telephone 605-578-3330; the casino has a separate Main Street listing. |
| 777 Casino at the Holiday Inn Express: Published gaming inventory | Deadwood’s visitor listing advertises 65 slots with electric poker, blackjack, and roulette. Its wording does not establish dealer-operated games or a live poker room. |
| 777 Casino at the Holiday Inn Express: Hotel-floor location | The visitor listing places 777 on the hotel’s first floor, supporting the convenience of a hotel-associated gaming stop. |
| 777 Casino at the Holiday Inn Express: Bar service | The casino listing advertises a full-service cocktail bar but supplies no drink prices or service hours. |
| 777 Lounge: Separately documented lounge location | The lounge listing identifies a first-floor Holiday Inn Express location and associates the lounge with Gold Dust; it does not supply a food menu. |
| Gold Dust Casino: Published comparison gaming options | Gold Dust’s own website advertises blackjack, roulette, Three Card Poker, and a sportsbook. These offerings are attributed to Gold Dust, not automatically to 777. |
| Mavericks: Published dining location and hours | Mavericks is listed at Gold Dust’s 688 Main Street address, opening at 11 a.m. and closing at 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday or 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Do not equate casino opening hours with restaurant availability. |
| Gold Dust C-Store: Published convenience-store location and hours | The C-Store is listed at 668 Main Street, with shorter hours than either casino’s around-the-clock periods. |
| Gold Dust lodging portfolio: Hotel affiliation and alternatives | The operator explicitly includes Holiday Inn Express & Suites among its owned downtown properties, alongside The Hotel by Gold Dust, The Suites by Gold Dust, and The Branch House. |
| Holiday Inn Express & Suites: Independent visitor-listing address corroboration | Deadwood’s convention-facility listing also uses 22 Lee Street for the hotel, consistent with the operator’s hotel address rather than 777’s casino address. |
| Calculation | Result | Takeaway |
|---|---|---|
| 777 Casino published weekly gaming availability | 144 hours per published operating week | 777’s published schedule is not around-the-clock all week; plan an early-week visit around its daytime opening and midnight closing. |
| Daily availability difference: Gold Dust versus 777 on Monday through Wednesday | 8 additional operating hours per day | Gold Dust’s published schedule makes it the alternative for overnight or early-morning gaming when 777 is closed early in the week; opening hours do not guarantee staffed table availability. |

Holiday Inn Express hotel and amenities
The Deadwood Holiday Inn Express & Suites listing places the associated hotel at 22 Lee Street, consistent with the official contact address. Use your reservation’s arrival instructions for check-in and luggage unloading, rather than assuming the casino’s Main Street address identifies the hotel entrance.
I would choose this hotel for downtown location and convenient casino access, not on the assumption that it delivers a full casino-resort experience.
Gold Dust’s hotel guide advertises an indoor pool and whirlpool at the Holiday Inn Express. These are hotel amenities, not features of the casino floor. Confirm access and current availability if swimming is part of your stay.
Deadwood’s hotel listing also identifies the property as pet-friendly. Ask about eligible rooms, charges, and restrictions before booking. The hotel policy does not establish whether pets may enter 777 Casino.
Room categories, room count, check-in times, and mandatory fees are not established in the published information. Confirm breakfast, Wi-Fi, accessibility requirements, and the complete room price. Cancellation terms depend on the exact rate selected.
777 Lounge and dining options
The casino listing advertises a full-service cocktail bar, while the 777 Lounge listing places the lounge on the hotel’s first floor. Drink prices, service hours, and a food menu are not supplied.
That supports planning for a drink, not assuming dinner, sandwiches, or late-night food will be available. I would make a separate meal plan.
Mavericks is listed at Gold Dust’s 688 Main Street address, not inside 777. Its published hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Restaurant closing times still matter when a casino stays open all night.
No regular live-music schedule, spa, or other destination entertainment offering is established for 777. Its downtown setting is the stronger reason to build an evening around this location.
Parking, arrival, costs, and rewards
The Holiday Inn Express website advertises free garage parking one block from the hotel. That helps the lodging budget, but still means a walk between the garage and hotel. It is a hotel parking offer, not confirmation of free parking for casino-only visitors.
If you are already staying downtown, I would consider whether walking fits your plans. Drivers should confirm parking eligibility, charges, unloading arrangements, and the route to the entrance. A Main Street address does not promise adjacent free parking.
Travelers needing step-free access should ask about the complete route from parking to the casino and hotel room. Smoking rules and transportation services also need direct confirmation.
No reliable property-specific room rate, resort fee, drink price, or minimum wager is supplied. Compare the complete overnight cost, including taxes, mandatory charges, parking, transportation, and meals. Keep the gambling budget separate.
A current casino rewards program and its earning or redemption rules are not established here. Ask whether benefits apply to 777 or extend to other properties. Hotel loyalty and casino rewards should be checked separately.
Strengths, limitations, and guest feedback
- Strengths: Convenient hotel access, downtown location, electronic game variety, cocktail service, and advertised round-the-clock gaming Thursday through Sunday.
- Limitations: A modest machine selection, shorter early-week hours, and no established live-table, poker-room, or sportsbook offering.
Usable customer-review coverage was not available in the supplied research. The attempted Google Travel page displayed an unsupported-browser notice, not guest reviews. These strengths and limitations are my assessment of the published offering, not a guest-review consensus or a firsthand visit report.
Who should visit 777 Casino?
I see 777 as a convenience choice. It best suits associated hotel guests, downtown visitors seeking a short machine-gaming stop, and players happy with electronic games and a cocktail.
It is a less compelling starting point for a dedicated poker trip, live-table session, sports-betting outing, or resort vacation. For broader options, see our guide to South Dakota casinos.
