Who makes Aftershock?
Aftershock is a WMS game. Scientific Games bought WMS in October 2013 and renamed itself Light & Wonder in 2022, so Aftershock now sits in the Light & Wonder catalogue.
How Aftershock works
Aftershock keeps things simple for players who prefer traditional reel games over busy video slot machines. All five paylines are always in play, so the only choice is your stake.
The wilds do the heavy lifting. A Double Aftershock substitutes for other symbols and doubles the win, and a Triple Aftershock does the same and triples it. When two land in the same winning line the multipliers combine:
- Two Doubles: 4x
- A Double and a Triple: 6x
- Two Triples: 9x
Three Triple Aftershocks pay the top prize of 200,000 coins.
BIG BET option
The online game has an optional BIG BET. Choosing it turns every Double Aftershock into a Triple Aftershock. Check the help screen to see how it changes your stake before you switch it on.
Aftershock Frenzy free spins
The Aftershock Frenzy feature awards 7 free spins, each one guaranteed to win. During the feature the Shocking Wilds effect can make wilds sticky, holding them in place for the spins that follow.
Playing Aftershock online
An online version of Aftershock is available, with a coin-based stake from 0.25 to 100 coins per spin and the 96.06% RTP noted above. Real-money online slots are legal in only a few US states, so availability depends on where you are and which games each casino carries. If you prefer life-changing prizes to steady play, look at progressive jackpot slots instead.
