Marquee Rewards no longer exists. It was the players club of Penn National Gaming, and after Penn bought Pinnacle Entertainment in 2018 it moved members onto Pinnacle’s mychoice program. In April 2023 mychoice was replaced by PENN Play, which is the loyalty program at PENN Entertainment casinos today.

What Marquee Rewards was
Marquee Rewards was a free card that worked across Penn National Gaming’s casinos and racetracks, many of them under the Hollywood Casino name. Members earned Tier Points to move up the tiers and Marquee Comps to spend, and redeemed them for free slot play, dining, hotel stays and merchandise. The tiers were named after show business titles: Marquee, Celebrity, Producer, Executive Producer and Icon.
Like most casino clubs, it tracked play when you inserted your card at slot machines and video poker machines or handed it to the dealer at table games. Earning rates and point life varied by property.
What happened to it
- October 2018: Penn National Gaming completed its purchase of Pinnacle Entertainment. Pinnacle’s mychoice program became the company-wide rewards program and replaced Marquee Rewards.
- August 2022: Penn National Gaming changed its name to PENN Entertainment.
- April 2023: PENN launched PENN Play to replace mychoice, with about 26 million members at launch. The military program myheroes became PENN Heroes.
If you still have an old Marquee Rewards or mychoice card, ask at a PENN Play desk at any PENN casino about your account. Marquee Tier Points and Marquee Comps are not part of the current program.
What happened to the Las Vegas properties
Marquee Rewards had two well-known Las Vegas area members. Their paths split:
- Tropicana Las Vegas: Penn sold the land to Gaming and Leisure Properties in 2020 and the operations to Bally’s in September 2022. The Tropicana closed on April 2, 2024, and its last hotel towers were imploded on October 9, 2024. Part of the site is being used for the Athletics’ planned ballpark.
- M Resort Spa Casino in Henderson is still a PENN property and takes PENN Play, making it PENN’s casino in the Las Vegas area.
PENN Play today
PENN Play has five tiers based on Tier Points: Play (up to 999), Advantage (from 1,000), Preferred (from 18,000), Elite (from 50,000) and Owners Club (200,000 and up, by invitation). At the casino, slots earn one Tier Point per $5 played and video poker one per $10, while table play is rated on the game, your average bet and time played. Members also earn PENN Cash, the reward currency, by playing, dining, shopping and staying at PENN properties, and PENN has linked the program to partners such as Live Nation and Choice Hotels. PENN does not publish a fixed PENN Cash rate, so check the PENN Play desk or app before you count on a particular return.
At the end of 2025 PENN had 42 gaming and racing properties in 19 states, including Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and West Virginia, plus Colorado, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland and Michigan. Its Florida presence is a simulcast wagering site near Orlando, the Sanford-Orlando Kennel Club. In California, Penn’s management contract for Hollywood Casino Jamul near San Diego has ended, so that casino is no longer part of PENN’s program.
Online, PENN’s US sportsbook now runs as theScore Bet. Its licensing deal with ESPN, which had run the sportsbook as ESPN Bet, ended early in November 2025. PENN’s online products only operate in states where they are licensed. Offshore sites that take US players are not licensed by any US state regulator; our online casino reviews explain the difference.
