The best video poker in Las Vegas is off the Strip, at locals casinos and downtown, where you can still find games that return 99.5% to nearly 100% with perfect play. Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station and Sam’s Town carry Triple Deuces Wild at 99.92%, and the Station Casinos properties and M Resort offer Triple Bonus Plus at 99.80%. Games that return more than 100%, such as full-pay Deuces Wild, are no longer reported anywhere in Las Vegas.
Paytables change without notice, so treat this list as a guide to where to look, and check the pay schedule on the machine before you put money in.

Why the Strip Is a Poor Bet for Video Poker
Tourists visiting Las Vegas often struggle to find good video poker because the Strip ranks near the bottom of the city for paytables. The difference adds up. Jacks or Better with the full 9/6 paytable returns 99.54% with perfect play, while the 8/5 version returns 97.30% and 6/5 returns 95.00%. On the same play, an 8/5 machine costs you about six times as much as a 9/6 machine over time.
Serious players head to the locals casinos or downtown. Those are also the places casino advantage players look first, because the paytables are better and cashback and promotions can add to your return.
Locals Casinos with the Best Video Poker
Station Casinos
Station Casinos properties are the most reliable places in town for good video poker. Santa Fe Station and Sunset Station offer Triple Deuces Wild at 99.92% in denominations from nickels up. Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch, Boulder Station and Palace Station have Triple Bonus Plus at 99.80% in quarters, half-dollars and dollars, with several other games above 99.5%. Not every machine on these floors has a good paytable, so look for the specific games.
M Resort
M Resort in Henderson has one of the deepest selections in the area, with Triple Bonus Plus at 99.80% in quarters to dollars and six games reported at 99.5% or better. It is one of the Las Vegas casinos most worth the drive for video poker players.
Sam’s Town, South Point and Rainbow Club
Sam’s Town carries nickel Triple Deuces Wild at 99.92%. South Point offers Deuces Wild 44 at 99.73% from quarters to $2. In Henderson, the small Rainbow Club has the best single game reported in the valley, a Double Double Bonus paytable returning 99.96%.
Sam’s Town was also the last place in Las Vegas with full-pay Deuces Wild, the classic 100.76% game. Its last bank was removed in 2023, and no casino in town is reported to carry it now.
Best Video Poker in Downtown Las Vegas
Downtown has fewer top games than the locals casinos, but it still beats the Strip.
- Plaza: 9/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe at 99.64%, along with 9/6 Jacks or Better at 99.54% and full-pay Joker Poker at about 100.65%. Full-pay games start at 25 cents; the bar machines at the Omaha Bar, Carousel Bar and sportsbook bar go up to $5.
- El Cortez: Double Deuces Wild at 99.62% on $1 machines.
- California: Deuces Wild 44 at 99.73% in nickels through half-dollars. It is one of the Boyd Gaming properties downtown, along with Main Street Station and the Fremont.
Other Fremont Street casinos, including The D, are not among the top-rated casinos in current player-reported paytable data. Some old favorites are gone entirely: the Las Vegas Club closed in 2015, and its site is now part of Circa.
Use Your Players Card
With no games left in town that return more than 100%, the cashback, free play and offers from a players card are part of your return. Join the players club at any casino where you play video poker and put the card in every time. On a 99.8% game, even small cashback closes much of the gap to break-even.
How Casinos Still Win on Good Paytables
Casinos can offer high-return video poker games because most players give back far more than the theoretical edge. Each game has its own strategy. Deuces Wild, Double Double Bonus and Triple Bonus Plus are not played like Jacks or Better, and many players never learn the differences. Many also bet fewer than five coins, which cuts the royal flush payout and lowers the return.
To get close to the returns above, play five coins every hand and learn the strategy for the exact game and paytable you are playing.

At locals casinos: Station Casinos properties, M Resort, Sam’s Town, South Point and the Rainbow Club in Henderson. Downtown, the Plaza, El Cortez and California are the best bets.
