Palms Hotel & Casino to Las Vegas Strip: Distance & Can You Walk It?

With 3 towers, 1,200 hotel rooms, clubs, restaurants, 95,000 square feet of casino space and a hip vibe, the Palms Casino Resort has a lot going for it.

One drawback however, is that it’s not on the Las Vegas Strip.

Nor is it really within a reasonable walking distance. In fact, the Palms is just over a mile from the Las Vegas Strip. It’s 1.4 miles to be exact (or 2 kilometers), when measured from the front of the Palms to the corner of the Strip and Flamingo Road).

This equates to about a half hour walk for most people. While that doesn’t seem unreasonable, the route is not very pedestrian friendly.

In addition, the 100 degree plus days you’ll often find in Sin City make this walk to the Strip from the Palms more like a death march than casual stroll.

Keep in mind, this is when starting from the front entrance of the Ivory Tower, which is the original, main hotel tower right on W. Flamingo Road.

Those of you staying in either Fantasy Tower or Palms Place towers will have an extra five minute walk, although there is a moving walkway in the skybridge from Palms Place to the Palms.

Walking from Palms to the Las Vegas Strip

(Here’s a rough walking outline of the path from the Palms “A” to the Strip “B”)

I don’t recommend walking from the Palms to the Strip, especially given how cheap it is to take an Uber or Lyft.

On top of that, do you really want to spend your valuable vacation time navigating the concrete under the hot sun? It is literally just a three minute taxi/Uber/Lyft ride from the Palms valet area to the Bellagio’s north valet.

However if you are going to walk anyways, be sure to cross the Street (W. Flamingo Road), and walk along the Rio side of the road.

Why? Simply because that’s where the sidewalks are. In addition, the pedestrian bridge is on the Rio side of the street. Sure, you’ll see sidewalks on the Palms side of the street, however those end before you get to the Interstate 15 overpass.

Walking on the north side (the Rio side) of the street is much safer and quicker.

This will eventually put you on the south side of the massive Caesars Palace resort complex, as Caesars Palace is the closest Strip casino to the Palms (when walking).

Google Maps says it’s 1.3 miles from the Palms Casino to the hotel desk of Caesars Palace.

If you’re wanting to get to the Bellagio, it would be just slightly longer, as you would have to cross back across Flamingo Road to reach the North Valet entrance into the Bellagio.
